The Best Time of The Year to Do Inca Jungle

There are two main seasons in the sub-tropical Peruvian Andes – a dry season which runs from May through to September, and a wet season from October to April.
The Inca Jungle trek can be completed all year round, however, heavy rains during January and February often lead to landslides on the trail and road that connect Santa Maria with Santa Theresa and hence the Inca Jungle trek is often closed during this time of the year.
The best time to do an Inca Jungle trek is either during the dry season, or on the dry season shoulder months of March / April and October / November. The latter shoulder months are particularly good if you are keen to do some rafting in Santa Maria.
The trail is busier during the dry season, but nowhere near as busy as the Classic Inca Trail.
Temperatures are fairly consistent all year round, with warm days reaching into the high 20s (Celsius). Nights and early mornings are cold (in the single digits and sometimes drop below zero degrees, especially in the dry season).
You will want to bring layered trekking clothing so that you can layer up or down as the daily temperatures fluctuate (see packing list below for details on layering).
Finally, micro-climates are the dominant weather force in the Andes. Make sure to bring some wet weather gear, like a basic poncho, as it is possible to encounter rain at anytime in the year.
Considerations for a High Season Jungle Trek
High season, June to August, tends to have the nicest weather, but it is also the busiest time. You may find higher prices, perhaps the need for advanced booking, and you’ll definitely find more hoards of people. Also, for the Jungle Trek during high season, you must consider that the water levels on the Urubamba River will be lower, making the whitewater rafting slower, longer, and perhaps less exciting.
A Shoulder Season Jungle Trek Could Be Best
In our opinion, shoulder season (April-May, September-October) is the sweet spot to pursue the Jungle Trek. Rain probabilities lessen, as does the influx of tourists. This is a great time to consider going!

The Best Time of the Year to Do Salkantay Trek

Did you know that the 5-day Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu is ranked among the very top ones in the world! It is a challenging, amazing adventure across the highest paths of the Andean range! On this blog we will tell you about the best time of the year to do this exciting tour.

The peak trekking season to Machu Picchu occurs during the dry season and is busiest between May and September. The Classic Inca Trail is very busy during these months and permits sell out months in advance. Those who don’t get permits for the Inca Trail typically overflow onto the Salkantay trail, which means that between May and September the route can be busy.
The Salkantay trek can technically be completed all year round, although we highly recommend avoiding the months of December, January and February when rainy days are the norm. The best trekking months run from the shoulder wet months March / April all the way through to the shoulder dry months October / November.
Temperatures throughout the year follow a very consistent pattern. Days are warm, in the high twenties Celsius (70/80 Fahrenheit), and cold at night and in the early mornings (single digits Celsius and sometimes below zero degrees).Temperature fluctuation is further exasperated by the micro-climates that dominate as you ascend and descend in altitude.
In conclusion, the best trekking months run from the shoulder wet months March / April all the way through to the shoulder dry months October / November. From June to September are the most popular months to do the trek, due to summer vacations in Europe and the US. It is generally thought that May and October offer the best weather conditions. If you are looking for a hikking in Cusco. You need to put Salkantay trek on your list. Which is the Best Time to Do the Humantay Lagoon Hike

The Humantay Lagoon is a hidden pearl of the Andean chain. You will hike along the amazing Cusco highlands until arriving at this heavenly, energetic spot. On this blog we will recommend you the best times of the year for doing this amazing tour.
The Humantay Lagoon trek is not about defying, defeating hostile nature. It is about doing a peaceful, relaxing, invigorating, upbeat excursion across the uplifting Cusco mountains. Thus, the best time for doing this wonderful journey will obviously be dry season, that is, between April to October. Hiking on rainy season (November to March) along the Andes is more for adrenaline-seeking and challenge-looking.
On dry season, weather is cold, strong winds but no rain whatsoever, no muddy or wet terrain either. You need to get yourself really warm clothing and accessories and you’ll be alright.
The Humantay Lagoon is an astonishing place to be and to see. You will spend a good while at this marvelous spot. Besides clearing your mind and replenish bodily energy just by being there, the landscapes are perfect for glorious pictures, there are the mighty snowies all around under a wonderful sky ceiling, and the Humantay Lagoon itself mirroring everything on its still blue waters.
And about rainy season for the fearless or people who don’t mind waiting for a pouring to pass: climate will be warmer, the path most likely muddy but overall it will be sunny most of the time, as gray clouds vanish.

Everything You Need To Know About Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain

The Mountain of the Seven Colors of Palccoyo is a set of peaks dyed in colors, due to a process of mineralization during millions of years. I’ts a great alternative to the Vinicunca Rainbow mountain. The views of these mountains are absolutely spectacular and on clear days, you can see the snow-capped peak of Ausangate and many more glaciated mountains in the distance.
Besides being a natural attraction of incomparable beauty, the Mountain of the Seven Colors is a natural habitat for various types of animals such as llamas, alpacas, vizcachas, condors and you can hike to the Rock or Stone Forest (Bosque de Piedras).
Location: The Mountain of the Seven Colors of Palccoyo is located south of Cusco, a short distance from the snowy Ausangate, in the Andes Mountains of Peru. It is currently located in the district of Checacupe, province of Canchis.
Altitude: Palccoyo is located at 4,900 meters above sea level (msnm), 300 meters at a lower altitude than the Mountain of the 7 Colors Vinicunca (5,200 meters above sea level).
How is the weather?
The weather in Palccoyo rainbow mountain in PerĂº depends of the rain season.
During the rain season between December to April, the wethers is very cold, the temperature in many times is below zero degrees Celsius. Snow falls most of the time and access is more difficult during this season.
And during the season of NO rains, it is not as cold as in the rainy season, and we have many icy winds, some days may snow falls, but not always.

When is the best time to visit the mountain?
The best time to visit the area is during the dry season (April to October). In those months, rains occurs less frequently, making the trip easier. However keep in mind that weather is unpredictable especially at high altitude. It can rain and even snow during the dry months and conditions can be cold and windy. So you will want to be prepared for many conditions.
· It is recommended to acclimatize to the climate of Cusco before visiting the Mountain of Palccoyo. Otherwise, the visitor may suffer the so-called altitude sickness.
· This mountain is a tourist attraction that receives few visitors every day. It is recommended to follow the indicated route and avoid looking for another different route.
· It is advised to find out how the weather in Palccoyo is located before booking a tour to the Mountain of the 7 Colors. The cold can cause the entire area to be covered in snow and the tour ruined.
· Bring and use sunscreen. Being at such high altitude will get you sunburned fast. At a higher altitude it is easier to become burnt, because there is less of the earth’s atmosphere to block the sunlight. So make sure to pack and use your sunscreen.
The trekking route to this mountain is not as challenging as the Vinicunca. That is why the Palccoyo is a great option for people who do not feel capable of making the difficult walk to the Mountain of the 7 Colors.
Palccoyo is the perfect destination for those who want to experience one of Peru’s unique hidden treasures. If you are looking for a trip place. You need to put Palccoyo on your list.
